Bio: Max Heaton is an artist from the United States; born 1990, Norwalk, Connecticut. Max got his start as a self-taught abstract painter in New York City.

Artist Statement:

The living body is a physical experience defined by boundary. The soul of the artist is partially bounded to physical experience. The picture plane of the artist is a boundary. The picture plane mirrors the experience that the soul has in relation to the boundary of the living body. This boundary encapsulates the experience of the primary interaction of:

"person with soul" or

"person to soul" or

"soul within person"

The soul within the artist, the art within the canvas is an experience within boundary.

The residue of the process of the artist is an extension of the boundary of the picture plane. The residue outside of the picture plane mirrors the experience that the soul has in relation to its expansion through human experience. This expansion reveals the experience of the primary interaction of:

"soul with universe" or

"soul to universe" or

"universe within soul"

The universe within the soul, the residue outside the canvas is an experience beyond boundary.

As the artist's process unfolds, there enters new meaning. The artist goes beyond the picture plane and returns to integrate the findings.
